Counselor of the Day Schedule
Every day during camp, a counselor is selected as counselor of the day (COD).  The COD is responsible for ringing the bells and ensuring that the camp's daily schedule is carried out.  Below is a sample COD schedule for a week day at camp.  It was taken from the 1992 Owatonna Staff Manual.

 
Morning
5:45am Rise and dress (Awakened by Head Counselor)
6:00am Wake all cabin counselors
6:15am Second call to see that all counselors are awake
7:00am Have bugler play reveille
7:05am Assemble campers in the grove for "callies" and run
7:30am Get flag from Director's Office - bring two campers from cabin to raise flag
7:35am Ring bell for flagpole - stand in the center with Head Counselor and Directors - check for proper uniform, bring campers to attention, raise flag, and lead Pledge of Allegiance
7:45am Lead breakfast grace - eat meal at Head Table
8:15am Ring Inspection Bell and shout "20 minutes"
8:20am Ring Bell and shout "15 minutes"
8:25am Ring Bell and shout "10 minutes"
8:30am Ring Bell and shout "5 minutes"
8:34am Ring Bell and shout "1 minute" - count down from 10 seconds, then shout "Quiet Hour" - disqualify any cabin that is still working on Inspection
8:55am Ring Bell for Morning Meeting - campers line up by Division in front of lodge steps and are let in by Division, youngest to oldest - post 2 counselors as ushers, one to hold lodge door and one to help seat inside
10:30am Ring Bell to end 1st period
11:35am Ring Bell for end of 2nd period - beginning of Free Time (Beach and Boat Dock close)
11:50am Ring Bell and shout "Recall to Cabins"
Afternoon
12:00pm Ring Bell for Lunch - campers line up by teams in front of the Lodge Porch - let team with straightest line in first - if buffet, stagger by divisions every 5 minutes from their cabins - Say noon grace
1:00pm Ring Bell for Rest Hour or as soon as lunch is over - may be earlier
2:00pm Ring Bell for end of Rest Hour - beginning of 3rd period
3:05pm Ring Bell for end of 3rd period
4:10pm Ring Bell for end of 4th period - beginning of Free Period
5:15pm Beach and Boat Dock close
5:25pm Recall to cabins
5:35pm Ring Bell or get bugler to blow "charge" for flagpole formation - record order of cabins - announcements
5:45pm Dinner - say dinner grace
Evening
6:45pm Ring Bell for Evening Activity
8:10pm Ring Bell to end Evening Activity and shout "Scouts to the Showers" (Lighthouse)
8:30pm Ring Bell and shout "Braves to the Showers" (Lighthouse)
8:45pm Ring Bell and shout "Warriors to the Showers" (Lighthouse) - lights out for Scouts
9:00pm Have bugler blow "taps" - Chiefs are quiet and complete showers (Four on the Floor)
9:15pm Lights out for Chiefs - make sure camp is quiet, stay in grove area, check with Division Duty (DD) to make sure cabins are covered
9:30pm Check in with Head Counselor - retire to cabin and be alert to any needs in the grove/cabin area (Counselors not on DD may leave cabin)
11:00pm All counselors on duty retire to cabin
12:00am Days/Nights off end
